50 School Technology Project for King Abdullah Project for Education Development ( Tatweer )

Saudi's Leading Solutions Provider Networks 50 Schools in 25 Cities in under 45 Days

3i Solution, one of the Kingdom's oldest solutions providers, has successfully completed a breakneck project to connect 50 Saudi secondary schools to the Kingdom's e-learning network. Tasked with the project and part of Tatweer, the King Abdullah Project for Education Development, 3i Solution worked with suppliers including Molex Infrastructure, Access control systems, General A/C, Security and Safety and MGE as well as Internet Service Provider Awalnet and Saudi Telecom to network the 50 secondary schools across the Kingdom.

Awarded this project from Saudi Telecommunication company just before Ramadan, the project's contract required 3i Solution to lay fiber cables in the school buildings, install access controls, smoke detectors, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units, A/C cooling and other equipment in 25 cities. With a deadline of 45 days, 870 3i Solution employees worked through Ramadan and the holiday of Eid to provide the schools and their thousands of students with high speed internet.

"Everyone at 3i Solution worked around the clock to ensure that the next generation of Saudis has access to the internet and e-learning," said 3i Solution general manager Abdulrahman Qanzal. "I'm very proud that we've been chosen as the solution provider for this project, part of the King Abdullah Project for Education Development. I'm even prouder that we've signed, sealed, and delivered everything that was asked of us before the deadline. It goes to show what 3i Solution and our partners are capable of."

3i Solution's partners included cabling specialists Molex, UPS providers MGE and all accessories related to the communication room for each school with full integration with other systems been provided by other parties. The size of the network designed and implemented by 3i Solution was over 21,500 nodes or connection points.

"3i Solution delivered on what it promised, and we were able to complete the work before the start of the new school season after Eid 10/10/2008". "Their project management skills were excellent, and the commitment of their team was outstanding. They've affirmed to us that they are the specialists in network infrastructure, and that they have the capability to implement any size of project."
